World Childless week is a time to recognise the childless community.

World Childless Week will run from the 12th to the 18th of September this year. This event aims to raise awareness of the childless not by choice (cnbc) community and enables every childless person to share their story with confidence.

It’s for anyone who is childless – despite their longing to be a parent, because they have never been pregnant (for any reason), not carried full term, or have suffered the sadness of a baby born sleeping.

The event is run by Stephanie Joy Phillips and is a great way for you to feel like you are part of a supportive community of like-minded people. There are many webinars to watch this week and they are all free.

Free webinars and other resources.

All webinars that are produced in World Childless Week can be watched live. Webinars are also recorded and you can watch them anytime you like on You Tube. To access them visit worldchildlessweek.net for more details.

The webinar I spoke in about Childlessness and Pets.

I was so grateful to be asked to be a guest on one of the webinars this year along with four other woman who I admire and respect. Our webinar was based around the theme We Are Worthy.

Our topic highlighted the importance of our relationships with pets. Discussing how many people without children also feel shame or judgment by others for the significance that animals can play in their lives.

In this webinar Judy Graham, Sarah Roberts, Narelle Hudson, Anne Xavier Altamore and Rochelle Trimnell-Ritchard (with Bentley) will bust some of the negative stereotypes and shine a light on how and why our pets contribute to our wellbeing and create richness in our lives.

World Childless Week 2022 – Celebrate Us: A community video project

I was also honored to be asked to share a short piece on my personal experiences with childlessness that would inspire others or offer support.

Michael Hughes, an advocate in the childless community and a World Childless Week ambassador then compiled all our short pieces into a video project, which I am so proud to have been a part of.

Prizes and giveaways.

During World Childless Week you can also get involved by entering a free competition. I felt flattered when I was asked if I would like to offer a copy of my book The Baby Dream as one of the prizes.

My book was pictured next to the other books, also included in the competition. Books written by other authors who I deeply admire and respect who have been advocates in this area for many years.

Come and join us to celebrate our worthiness in a week where we get louder and open a dialogue about childlessness so others who walk ahead of us won’t feel as alone as those who walked behind us!
