The Baby Dream – Learning to Live with Infertility and Loss was written over a long period of time, initially as a cathartic way for me to process my grief and loss and all the experiences I had to endure during my journey to have a baby.
Before I even dreamed of it being a book that I would share publically with others, it was simply a compilation of my journal entries, as a way to process and make sense of my pain.
Sharing such a personal glimpse into your life with the world is daunting.
I know that my story is an important one to share with others, although this does not always make it any easier to be this vulnerable. As I introduced my book to the world there were many tears and much emotion.
For although the messages in my book are universal to many and very relatable they are deeply personal to me and still stoke the grief that will forever lie in my heart and remind me of the loss I endured.
I believe it is important to talk about this sensitive topic, even though it is not easy. So often our society avoids difficult feelings like grief but all this does is cause people to feel more alone and even silenced.
Grief is a normal emotion that none of us can avoid as humans. In sharing my story I hope to be able to encourage others to be able to acknowledge their own grief or find it easier to hold space for others.

It was such a beautiful night sharing my book with others both sitting in front of me and also tuning in via Zoom. In the midst of the pandemic I was just grateful to be able to connect with so many.
People joined me from all over the country and the world on Zoom, and fortunately others were able to come and support me in person. It was a magical night that concluded in me signing copies of my book for others to purchase.
One of those pinch me moments when you see your book in a store for sale.
I had always dreamed of being an author and of walking into a bookstore and seeing my book on the shelf next to books from other inspiring authors but when it actually happens it is quite surreal!
